(on the ice skating rink- picture taken by Nils Schlebusch)At the end of February, the Green family went to Lake Placid, NY for a very fun and much needed vacation!
While we were there, the Empire State Winter Games were going on, so we watched figure skating, ice-hockey and ski jumping!
Here we are in front of the ice-skating rink. That evening we watched "Miracle" which is an excellent movie. 
We stayed at the Whiteface Lodge which had an outside pool and hot tub. Here are the girls lying on the snow-covered recliner chairs just after getting out of the hot tub. (It was Dad's idea.) 
The boys wanted a picture of them braving the 5 inches of snow too.

We also went snow shoeing on the paths behind the Lodge. Not all of the kids enjoyed it and there was a fair amount of complaining.
