Spring Homeschool Syracuse Choir Concert 2007

And it's that time of year again!! We just returned from Syracuse after a short visit. During the visit, the older girls had their last day of homeschool co-op, Mom had her ending brunch for her Women's Biblestudy, and some of the kids had their homeschool concert. You might have seen the posting on this blog for our Christmas concert in December 2006, which went very well, but this one went even better! Elizabeth and Caroline had a duet which was beautiful (so I've been told) and all of the other kids sang excellently.
Here is a picture of the training chorus, which includes Alexander, Timothy, Abel, Benjamin, Daniel and Susannah.

This is the Senior Choir (and the training chorus) which includes Sarah, Caroline, Elizabeth and Hannah.

It was so sad to say good-bye to all of our friends in Syracuse, as we won't be seeing them for a long time, and it was especially hard to say good-bye to our dearest director and friend, Juliana LaSala. She is pictured here with some of the girls, along with one of our best friends Quinn.

We miss all of you who are reading this in Syracuse and everyone else. God bless!

Morlyn

This is our newest pet turtle Morlyn:

He is a male American box turtle and can pull himself all the way into his shell and then close it. When we first found him in our back yard he was scared of us, but after a while he got used to us and would let us pick him up and carry him around for walks.

After a few days we decided to let our new pet go because he looked tired of his cage. When we told our friend who lives here in Virginia about Morlyn and she said that she's found lots of turtles before, so now we're really excited to find more!

Isn't it lovely?? We love to do this kind of stuff.

The Moving Process...

We are safley in Winchester, VA and have been here for almost a week and we love it!! I'm just now having the time to post some pictures as we've been unpacking and we've gotten involved in some homeschool activities already (soccer). The weather has been amazing, when we arrived it was sunny and 80 degrees. Quite a change from our last post.
Here are some pictures of the move; before and after.

We needed 2 moving trucks to move all of our stuff. Our friend, Mrs. Milano was such an excellent help in telling us what to throw away and what to keep, and helping us to pack. Many of our other friends helped us to pack also and we're so grateful for their help.

It was such a shock to see our house empty and bare of *stuff.*

It took the movers 3 days to load the trucks and 1 and a half days to unload them again.

Finally we got to our rental house on Monday. This is the girls (before going off to a homeschool ballroom dance) in the living room of the rental.

The house is in a neighborhood, and as Mom says, "It's like a party all the time!" The neighbor boys are always coming over to ride bikes with our boys. Here's Benjamin enjoying the sun, sidewalk and jumprope.

And this is the front of our new home.

We miss you all very very much in Syracuse!!
