Howard and I went up to Lake Placid at the end of October (see blog posting on October 28th).
When we left Lake Placid, there was no snow at all, and when we got home there was no snow, but all the way in between there was a foot of snow.
There were fir trees coming down on all sides of the road, so we had to keep swerving to avoid trees.
At every part of the road, all over the place, on power lines, lying across the road, there were fir trees.
Crews were busy cutting them away, so we had to keep stopping and waiting and hoping a tree didn't fall on us.
It had rained the day before and then snowed a heavy snow, and only the fir trees were toppling.
It was a scary drive--we were very thankful that the Lord brought us home safely to our children.
