Trip to Washington DC

On Friday the 22, Howard, Liz, Caroline and Elizabeth arrived in Washington DC for the Voter Value's Summit, A Call to Action by the Family Research Council. Everyday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm we heard talks given by people such as Bill Bennet, Newt Gingritch, Sean Hannady, Ann Coulter, Sen. Rick Santorum, Gov. Mitt Romney, OK Senator Imhofe, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Sam Brownback, James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Mark Earley, Alan Sears, Gary Bauer, Rep. Marilyn Musgrave and many more! The issues were mainly those of great concern to Christians; abortion, same sex marriage, legislating from the judicial bench. We were inspired and urged to action of any type. There were about 1,700 people in attendance.

We also got to have dinner with Howard's good friend from the Naval Academy, Brian Rodgers along with his new wife, Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers of eastern Washington. That was great fun and encouraging for the girls to hear about the path which she has taken.

On the last night of the conference, there was a gala dinner, black tie optional, and the girls had a lot of fun dressing up for that (see photo).

On the way home from DC we stopped in Virginia to see Liz's sister Joanna, her husband John, and their 3 kids and had dinner with them.

All in all we had a great time!

Our New Church Building

Eastern Hills Bible Church has officially moved into its new location!!! The grand opening was this past Sunday the 17th. It is such a beautiful building! Here's a picture of Caroline by the childrens' rooms--it's just a wall that she's standing by--you can imagine the rooms!
The other photo is a sign that a local Catholic church put up for us!

Happy Adoption Day Nathanael and Daniel!!!

Today (the 14th of September) is Nathanael and Daniel's Adoption Day! We have had them for exactly one year, and we are so glad that they are part of our family.

School is going well--both Emily and Daniel read their 1st book ever, and we finished a 600 piece global puzzle which was a large accomplishment.

The boys have also been busy--they caught a snake from under a tree and a toad from a drainpipe to charm the girls with.

News and Excitement at the Green House

Yesterday at the library, Emily noticed a small red box on the wall and went to check it out. A few minutes later, she was close to crying and told one of her sisters that she had broken it. She glanced up at the red box--and realized it was the fire alarm for the whole library and Emily had just pulled it. That explained the loud siren that was going off in the library.

Soon there were fire trucks and policemen all over the library. After everyone found out who did it, Mom had a talk with Emily, and all is now fine.

School has started and is going very well. Mom made a magnificent scedule which took her several days to make. All the school activities have started or are starting, including choir, debate, co-op, biblestuday, and AWANA.

Other news at the Green house is that we have a photographer coming today to take pictures for our feature coming up in the Princeton Alumni Weekly Magazine; the two new animals got named; and Caroline got contacts.

The 2nd New Addition to the Family

This is the second new addition to our family- Sarah's black female gerbil. This makes a total of 27 animals and 12 children in the Green Family.
Neither the gerbil nor the guinea pig have names as of yet, but "Lips" and "Fungus" are being considered for the guinea pig. Leave a comment and tell us your opinion. ;)

New Addition to the Family

This is Hannah's birthday present. He is 4 months old and is a teddy bear guinea pig. Dad wants to have it for dinner.
Oh and Hannah is turning 12 on September 25th.

Home from Camp

Hi everyone. We are home from camp. We had a terrific week. We did lots of canoeing and tooling around in the aluminum rowboat powered by the mighty Pathfinder 400.

The Birdseys have worked miracles with the boathouse. It never would have looked likt it does now if we still owned it.

On Thursday, our 15th anniversary, we went on a fun day trip to the Upper Valley and showed the kids all the places from our wedding and our years there. It was lots of fun.

These are photos of us firing our potato cannon into the lake and all of us on the Essex ferry and in front of the church in which we got married fifteen years ago in Woodstock, Vermont.
